This is a space to share outcomes from an eTwinning project between several schools in Europe. Our pupils are from 6 to 12 years old and our team intend to share songs that children sing in their childhood, songs that all of us learn from our parents and grandparents and also in schools and much more...

1st March - Spring is coming
1st March is the day when Romanian girls and women receive "martzishoare" and wear them for few weeks until the religious celebration called "Florii" comes . There are some symbols used to bring luck : snowdrops, chimney sweeper, horse shoe, clover and other spring symbols.
Have a nice spring!

Thank you very much, dear Romanian friends!
We are glad that we've got the same holiday, a tradition to wear "martenitsas" or "martzishoare" for health and luck. In Bulgaria 1st March comes to show that the spring is here and the flowers will blossom soon. So let's celebrate with love and joy!
Happy Grandmother Marta!
Warm wishes, Bulgarian Team
Well, it's nice to know about your traditions.
Thanks you all.
I am very glad to learn that this tradition is also in Romania. Let's celebrate together with martenitsas. Let spring come and warm our hearts. Many smiles from Bulgaria : Svetla :)
